*Terms and conditions apply. "This month's savings" is based on a 50 litre AA Smartfuel redemption. To maximise your savings, it pays to fill up as close to 50 litres as you can because your account balance will return to zero after each redemption.
Once accumulated, discounts must be redeemed by the end of the following calendar month, e.g. a fuel discount dated 1 July 2017 through 31 July 2017 will expire on 31 August 2017.


Switching to a Fuel Rewards plan is easy

AA Smartfuel is Contact’s new rewards partner. 
It is a loyalty programme where you can earn fuel discounts each month when you are on a Contact Fuel Rewards plan.  You can also swipe your AA Smartfuel card at other participating retailers to collect and accumulate additional fuel discounts!
To redeem your rewards, just fill up and swipe your AA Smartfuel card at a participating BP or Caltex service station, request to redeem your accumulated discounts, and receive the amount off each litre you purchase up to 50 litres!

You can collect AA Smartfuel discounts by signing up one of our Fuel Rewards plans and providing us with your AA Smartfuel card number.

Each of our Fuel Rewards plans have monthly AA Smartfuel discounts and other great discounts and prompt payment discounts.

You can track your fuel discounts from Contact and other participating retailers on the AA Smartfuel app, you can download this on your smart phone, check out the AA Smartfuel website for more information.

You can pick up a free AA Smartfuel card from your local BP, selected Caltex and Countdown stores.  Once you have your card, you need to then register your card directly with AA Smartfuel. 

There are three ways to register your card.

-Online via the AA Smartfuel website.  

-Call 0800 842 877.

You’ll receive email confirmation when your card is registered.

You sure can!  AA and Countdown have their own branded AA Smartfuel cards, but you can still use these cards to accumulate AA Smartfuel discounts with Contact!

Once you have your card, you need to provide us with the card number, you can do this by logging into your My Account online services, or calling us on 0800 80 9000.

What do I need to know about my fuel discounts?

  1. AA Smartfuel discounts are only available on electricity accounts.
  2. AA Smartfuel discounts will be awarded as soon as practicable after the 1st of every month from the month following the date the Plan is applied to your account. It can take up to 48 hours for the AA Smartfuel discounts to be applied and show on your AA Smartfuel account.
  3. We are not responsible or liable for the application of the AA Smartfuel discounts to your account, this is the sole responsibility of AA Smartfuel Limited.
  4. Upon receipt of a request from you, we will link your AA Smartfuel membership number to the nominated electricity account. AA Smartfuel discounts earned prior to the date your accounts are linked will be applied as soon as practicable after the 1st of the month following that date.
  5. Your entitlement will accrue whether or not your AA Smartfuel card is registered. It is your responsibility to ensure you have registered your card with AA Smartfuel Limited.
  6. If we send you an overdue payment reminder while you are on the Plan, any AA Smartfuel discounts which would have been earned by you while your payment remains overdue will be forfeited. Once you have paid any amounts owing to us you will start earning AA Smartfuel discounts on the Plan again.
  7. The offering of AA Smartfuel discounts to customers and the changing of the terms upon which AA Smartfuel discounts are offered in the future are solely at our and/or AA Smartfuel Limited's discretion.
  8. The redemption and expiry of AA Smartfuel discounts is governed by the terms and conditions of the AA Smartfuel programme which can be found at www.aa.co.nz/site-info/terms-andconditions/aa-smartfuel/
  9. We will send the details of the AA Smartfuel discounts you have earned on the Plan to AA Smartfuel Limited. Any information relating to you and your participation in the AA Smartfuel programme through us may also be used by us for marketing, planning, product development, research and other commercial purposes.

Fixed Pricing special terms

Introduction
  1. The Fuel Rewards Plan ("the Plan") is available to residential electricity and DualEnergy customers only. Subject to clauses 8, 9, and 10 below, pricing on the Plan will not increase until the end of the Plan.
  2. If you have electricity and natural gas with us at the same premises then both must be on the Plan.
  3. The special terms for the Plan are made up of the Fuel Rewards Plan Fixed Pricing special terms and the Fuel Rewards Plan Benefit special terms (collectively "the Special Terms"). The Special Terms should be read along with our General terms and conditions for residential and business customers. If there are any inconsistencies between the two, the Special Terms will prevail.
  4. We reserve the right to cancel the Plan early if you are in breach of any of our terms and conditions.
  5. Term - when will the pricing start and end?

  6. The Plan will apply from the date we process your application or a date notified to you by us and will continue until 30 June 2018.
  7. When the Plan ends, your pricing will change to our Fuel Rewards Freedom Plan or our closest equivalent available at the time, or to another plan offered by us and accepted by you.
  8. The Plan will end if you move to another property.
  9. Price - what's not included in the fixed pricing?

  10. The Electricity Authority Levy, Gas Industry Company Fee, unmetered charges, and our Distributed Generation export rate are not covered by this agreement and are subject to change.
  11. We may adjust your price as necessary:
    • to pass on to you any other cost to us as a result of new regulation, governmentimposed tax, levy, assessment, duty, charge or withholding on natural gas or electricity, or on this Agreement; and
    • if for any reason, the information that we relied on to set the price for you under the Plan is incorrect or changes. For example, if the meter set-up referred to on your current retailer's bill differs to your actual set-up, or if the price category is changed by your network company. If this occurs and you no longer wish to take up or continue with the Plan, we may waive any applicable early termination fee.
  12. These terms do not affect our additional service fees, which may change from time to time in accordance with our General terms and conditions for residential and business customers.
  13. Termination - what happens if I want to end the Plan early?

  14. If you switch to another energy retailer before the end of the Plan, an early termination fee of $150 per electricity installation control point (ICP) will apply.
  15. You cannot change to one of our other plans before the end of the Plan, unless at our discretion we agree it is reasonable to allow you to do so.
  16. Eligibility - how do I qualify for the Plan benefits?

  17. The discounts and benefits that you are eligible for and the amount of those discounts and benefits are set out in your confirmation letter. There are no discounts on LPG charges.
  18. To qualify for the prompt payment discount, you need to pay your bill in full and on time.
  19. To qualify for the email discount, you need to be signed up to receive your bill and correspondence by email.
  20. To qualify for the direct debit discount, you need to be signed up for your bill to be paid by direct debit from a bank account (excludes direct debit from a credit card account).
  21. To qualify as a DualEnergy customer and qualify for the associated discount, you need to purchase electricity from us and at least one of the following fuel types at the same premises:
    • Contact natural gas (on the same bill); or
    • Contact Rockgas reticulated LPG; or
    • Contact Rockgas bottled LPG for 2 or more installed 45kg cylinders.
  22. In order for the discounts set out in clauses 15, 16 and 17 to apply, you must meet the eligibility criteria as at the end of the bill period.
  23. Exclusions - when might this Plan not be available?

  24. The Plan is not available to PrePower customers or in conjunction with any other offer from us.
  25. AA Smartfuel - what do I need to know about my fuel discounts?
