Relationships with tangata whenua

Ma pango, ma whero, ka oti ai te mahi

We're committed to working collaboratively with tangata whenua to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes which have a positive impact on all New Zealanders and the place we call home.

We're growing our understanding of what it means to be a good neighbour, standing on the whenua with iwi, hapū and hapori. This means focusing on kaitiakitanga, creating shared value, working in partnership, and growing Contact’s cultural capability to enhance our relationships.

We engage with tangata whenua across all our generation sites to support active kaitiakitanga and mitigate adverse effects of our operations. Find out more about our engagement with tangata whenua and the work we've been doing together in our Integrated Report.
