Direct debit is the easiest way to pay your bill. Once you’ve set it up, we’ll automatically deduct from your bank account the full amount owing on your bill’s due date. You’ll need to make sure you have enough in your account to cover it.
If you want to set up a direct debit on a credit or debit card, you can do so over the phone using our secure automated system. Call 0800 80 9000 to do this.
It can take up to 20 working days to set up. We’ll send you an email or a letter (depending on your communication preferences) to confirm when it has been done. We’ll also let you know when your first payment is due to be taken.
Yes, you can. Direct debit payments from a credit or debit card have an added processing fee of 0.95% (inlc. GST) of the payment amount. This fee will show on your bill.

Sign into My Account and you can set it up in there. You don’t need to call us to set it up. You will need to read and agree the terms and conditions around a direct debit on a joint bank account.
Your direct debit payment will be taken on your bill’s due date. This could be weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on how you like to be billed. You can check your bill’s due date by looking at your digital bill in My Account.
