Simply be an eligible Contact customer with a residential energy account, then click the link to the sign-up form above and follow the prompts. It should only take a couple of minutes. Simple!

You’ll see a message on screen immediately after submitting the form that you’ve successfully signed up. You’ll also receive a confirmation message from bp charge. 

Follow the steps below once you’ve downloaded the bp charge app:

1. Select ‘login’
2. Select ‘I forgot my password’ and follow the prompts to set one up.

If you used the same email registered with Contact on your bp charge account, it’ll be added to the same account after sign up.  

If your bp charge account is registered with a different email, you can change your email in bp charge app or in Contact app/My Account before you sign up, so it matches. Then jump back online and complete the sign-up form.

If the email registered with Contact is not the same as your bp charge email a new account gets created. You can choose to delete your old bp charge account (keep in mind that once you’ve deleted the account you will lose all your transaction history). or use both. The offer will only be applied to the account matching the email registered with Contact. 

Check if you’ve received a confirmation email from bp charge – this confirms if sign up was successful. You should also see “Contact Energy Offer” in the bp charge app when you select a location.

If you already have a bp charge account before signing up and you can’t see the subscription in your existing account, that might be because the email on your bp charge account didn’t match with the email on your Contact account. In this case a new bp charge account gets created.  

You can either use both bp charge accounts or delete your old one – keep in mind that once you’ve deleted the account you will lose all your transaction history.

No, this all happens in the bp charge app. Payment will come off the debit/credit card you add to the app.

You’ll be able to see all the discounts in the bp charge app. Select a location and click on Contact Energy Offer to see the applicable discounts which include: 

• $0 subscription fee (normally $10)
• 10% anytime discount
• Extra 60% boost discount when you start charging between 7-9am and 4-6pm any day of the week.

Check that you have the Contact subscription on your bp charge app. Go to My Profile and select subscriptions. If it’s not there, email us or call us on 0800 222 730.

Also, you may not be seeing a discount if you have exceeded the monthly discount limit. Once your recorded charging usage reaches or exceeds 250kWh in a billing month, the discounts will no longer apply to any further charging for the remainder of that billing month. Further charging will be charged at bp charge’s standard retail price. 

The extra 60% boost discount is added on top of the 10% anytime discount, giving you a total of 70% off your entire charging session if you start charging between 7am-9am or 4pm-6pm. 

The boost discount will apply when you start charging between 7am-9am or 4pm-6pm. Check the start time of your charge session. It must be between these times to ensure the boost discount is applied for the entire session. 

If monthly charging exceeds 250kWh, you will no longer qualify for any discounts. Further usage will be charged at bp charge’s standard retail price.

You can track if you’re nearing 250 kWh of usage in the bp charge app on the “Contact Energy plan” page. Note, the average charge is around 25 kWh so that still gives you around 10 charges per month to keep enjoying savings.

Once you opt out of the offer, it will be removed from your bp charge account. You will still be able to use the discounts until your ‘next billing date’ which is shown in the bp charge app. After that date, you will no longer have access to the Contact discounts, and it will have gone from your bp charge account.  This doesn’t impact any other subscriptions you may have on this account.
