Contact Energy Friend Get Friend Promotion Terms and Conditions 2023
The Contact Energy Friend-Get-Friend Promotion (the Promotion) is available to:
a. new residential Contact customers (Friends) who:
i.apply to join Contact for electricity or multiple products and are accepted as a customer on Contact’s General Terms and Conditions for Residential and Business Customers;
ii.sign up using a valid referral URL; and
b.existing residential Contact electricity or multiple product customers (Referrers) who:
i.generate a valid referral URL; and
ii.refer a Friend using their valid referral URL.
Subject to these terms, the Promotion gives:
a.each Friend who meets the above criteria a credit on their Contact account; and
b.each Referrer who meets the above criteria a credit on their Contact account,
(each a Promo Credit).
The value of the Promo Credit will be the amount advised by Contact on its website as varied by Contact in its absolute discretion from time to time.
The Promotion is only available online. It is not available in conjunction with other promo codes or limited time offers.
The Promotion is not available when changing electricity plans or adding a plan to an existing account.
Both the Referrer and Friend must remain Contact customers for a period of at least 30 days from the date the Friend’s electricity account activates for either of them to receive the Promo Credit. After that 30 period, the Promo Code will be processed within 15 days.
The Promo Credit is applied as an upfront credit to each account (incl GST) and may only be applied against future invoices issued by Contact to that account until the Promo Credit is used up.
The Promo Credit is not transferrable, refundable nor redeemable for cash. If a Friend or Referrer has any Promo Credit balance remaining in their account on closure of their account with Contact (for any reason), they will forfeit that Promo Credit balance.
A valid URL or promo code must be used in order to qualify for the Promotion. To be a valid referral URL or promo code for the purposes of clauses 1 and 2 above, the referral URL or promo code must be created by an existing customer of Contact Energy using the email address registered to their Contact account for receiving their monthly energy bill.
If the Friend or Referrer leave Contact during the 30 day period, the Promotion will cease to apply, and no Promo Credit will be given.
A Referrer is entitled to a maximum of 10 Promo Credits in any 12 month period during the term of the Promotion. Contact reserves the right to vary this limit in its absolute discretion from time to time without notice.
Contact reserves the right to investigate any activity it suspects to be fraudulent or not in good faith.
Contact may, in its absolute discretion, decline to apply any Promo Credit to a Customer's account, or remove any Promo Credit applied to a Customer's account, if it considers that the Referrer and/or the Friend has not complied with the terms of the Promotion or is acting fraudulently or is not acting in good faith. Examples include, but are not limited to, the Referrer and/or Friend being in breach of any law in connection with its participation in the Promotion (including any infringement of Contact’s trademarks or other intellectual property rights) or if it is apparent to Contact that the referral is not genuine.
Contact reserves the right to terminate, modify or suspend this Offer without notice at any time.
These terms and conditions should be read alongside Contact's General Terms and Conditions for Residential and Business Customers and any other terms and conditions that apply to the Friend and Referrer's services with Contact.
