Group plans are an easy way for you and your favourite people to save on your monthly mobile bills.

 

Invite up to four of your crew to join you in a Group and if they are on the same plan as you then they’ll only pay $25 per month.

How do you set up a new Group?

Here's how to set up a Group with your crew


  1. Sign in to your Contact mobile account or open the Contact mobile app
  2. Head to the My Contact tab and select Groups
  3. Hit the ‘Invite new member’ button and enter the phone number of the Contact mobile customer that you would like to invite (they’ll need to have created an account before you can invite them)

That’s it! Just let your Group know that they have an invitation waiting for them in their account so they can sign in and accept.

As long as there is a Group owner paying full price for their plan then all of the other Group members will score themselves the same plan for $25 per month. If the Group owner leaves then another member of the Group will start paying full price for their plan instead. 

Here's how to set up a group with kids

Once you’ve joined yourself, you can buy additional plans on your same account for people you’d like to be in your Group but don’t have their own account.

Each plan gets its own bill and you can choose different payment cards, which is handy if you’d like those Group members to pay their own way.

Once your extra SIMs arrive, you can add them to your Group following the same steps for setting up a new Group.

How do you join an existing Group?

If you are new to Contact mobile:

  1. Once your SIM arrives (don’t put it in your phone yet), sign in to Contact mobile and head to your Account page to find your new phone number.
    Don’t worry – you can still bring your old number with you, but you’ll need to use this number to join a Group.
  2. Share your new number with somebody already on Contact mobile so they can invite you to join their Group.
  3. To accept a Group invitation, sign in to your Contact mobile account and head to the Groups section. It's important to accept your Group invitation before putting your SIM in your phone.
    If you put your SIM in your phone before accepting a Group invitation you’ll pay full price for the first month.
  4. Now that you've joined your Group, pop your Contact SIM into your phone to get set up. You can now choose to bring your old number during set up.

If you’re already on Contact mobile with an active SIM:

  1. Share your phone number with the person whose Group you’d like to join so they can send you an invitation
  2. Sign in to your account and head to the Groups section to accept your invitation
  3. Your plan cost will change to $25 per month from the start of your next billing cycle.

How do Group plans work?

When you take out any Contact mobile pay monthly plan, you can invite up to four other Contact mobile customers to join you in a Group and if they are on the same plan as you then they’ll pay $25/month for their plan.

Set up a Group and start inviting your favourite people to join you, or join an existing Group set up by another Contact mobile customer.

How do I set up a Group?

If you already have a Contact mobile account head to the Groups section in your account and start inviting your favourite people. Just make sure they’ve already registered for a Contact mobile account as well.

How do I join a Group?

Once someone from your Group has invited you, sign into your Contact mobile account, head to the Groups section, click the envelope and accept the invite.

If you’re a new Contact mobile customer, then just make sure you accept your invite before activating your SIM. This will make sure you pay the $25 Group price from day one.

Who can be in a Group?

Any Contact mobile customer can be in a Group, as long as they have an active Contact mobile account. You don’t even need to live at the same address. Any Contact mobile account holder can join a Group and start saving!

How do billing and payments work in a Group?

There will be separate bills for each group member and these will be charged monthly to the credit card used during sign up. The person who started the Group will pay for the full priced plan, with all other Group members paying $25 per month for their plans.

If the person who started the Group, leaves the Group, then the Group member who has been part of the Group the longest will then start paying the full price of their plan instead of $25 per month.
