Have trees on your property that are near Contact Energy’s overhead power lines? We can help you make sure they’re at a safe distance.
Trees growing too close to overhead lines can cause power outages and create serious safety risks. Keeping trees at least four metres away from power lines helps keep the power on and people safe.
Forestry areas
If you are planning a harvest near overhead power lines, you’ll need a felling plan for any trees within two lengths of the lines as a WorkSafe requirement. The plan must be agreed by the contractor, principal, and asset or network owner (power company). Please contact us for advice on managing electrical safety before work begins.
