Contact is developing a pipeline of wind generation opportunities to meet Aotearoa New Zealand’s growing demand for renewable electricity.
Our first proposed site is located on Slopedown Hill in eastern Southland, approximately 25km south of Gore and 15km east of Wyndham.
Southland Wind Farm is proposed to consist of up to 55 wind turbines each up to approximately 7MW in capacity with a tip height of 220m. The wind farm is expected to generate as much as 300MW with an output in the range of 900 - 1,200 GWh per year which is enough power to supply 110,000 to 150,000 households and providing a significant contribution to the energy supply in Southland.
